Alaska Driving Permits

 In order to get a driving permit in Alaska, you must pass a written test and
vision test. In Alaska you do not need to do Drivers ED, however, you must
pass the written Exam.

Requirements for a learners Permit are:

• Must be at least 14 years of age
• Must have a social security Card or proof of Social Security Number
• A valid form of Identification (Birth Certificate)
• Parental Consent
• Payment for the required Vision and Written Test

However, Alaska's Permits come with Restrictions:

• When you first get your permit, you may practice driving only with an
  adult (21 years or older) with a valid Drivers License.
• He or she must also be close enough to take control, in case of an
  emergency.

After 6 months with a permit you may apply for a Drivers license.

• Pass a Drug Awareness Test
• Pass a Written Exam
• Pass a Behind the Wheel Course
• Have parental consent
