Callifornia Driving Permits
Introduction
In order to get a drivers permit in California, you must attend and graduate Drivers Education. Furthermore, when you apply for your permit, you must show proof of graduation and payment of behind the wheel training. Driving School
At driving school, an individual will be taught the laws and regulations of
driving in California. Unlike many other states, California mandates teenagers
to attend Driving School. However, driving school can become a fun
experience and often does not interfere very much with a persons life.
Requirements for a Learners Permit:
- Must be at least 15 1/2 years of age
- Submit a required DL 44 form from the DMV office
- Include your parents signatures to ascertain liability
- Provide a valid thumb print
- Social Security Card or proof of Social Security Number
- A Certified U.S. Birth Certificate
- Pass a vision test
- Cash Payment $5 for the examination
- Cash Payment $23 to purchase the Learners License.
- Valid certificate of Drivers ED completion
- Valid certificate of payment for behind the wheel training
Restrictions
- At all times, you must have a parent or adult over 25 years of age supervising you while you drive.

Requirements for Minor's License
A person under 18 years old may not apply for a permit until they have had
their permits / learners license for at least 6 months.
- The student must also complete a minimum of 50 hours behind the wheel
training with a licensed adult. - Also, a student must also drive 10 hours at

- Pass Vision Test
- Valid parent permission.
Restrictions:
Cannot drive other teens unless they are over 21 and have a valid license.
