In Canada the minimum age to obtain a learner's permit varies from 14 to 16 years of age depending on the province one resides in. Moreover, getting a driving permit in Canada follows the guidelines below.
Reauirements for Learner's Permit (G1):
- Valid proof of identification
- Valid photo
- Parental consent
- Pass written test
- Pass vision test
- Pay required fees
Restrictions:
- A person with four years' experience must sit in the seat adjacent the new driver
- All passengers must wear seat belts
- The learner must not drive on major highways
- The learner must not drive between the hours of 12AM and 5AM
- The learner must have a blood alcohol count of 0
Requirements for Provisional License (G2):
- Must have had permit for one year
- Pass road test
- Valid identification
- Parental consent
- Pay required fees
Restrictions:
- The ldriver not drive between the hours of 12AM and 5AM
- The driver must have a blood alcohol count of 0
